Rising @ Spike Island Open Studios 2017

We had a fantastic time opening up our studio for Spike Island Open! Rising Associate Artists Mary Watson and Henry Garrett exhibited some of their pieces, and received brilliant feedback from the public - including some sales of their work!

Having developed the first run of ceramic dinnerware - Marewares - as Rising Arts Agency's first Artist in Residence, Mary displayed her works in progress: a second round in a new colour scheme, with new designs. Her deep blue bowls and jugs were a hit!

Henry Garrett (Drawings Of Dogs), who is currently Rising's second Artist in Residence, exhibited his ongoing project 'Drawings of Dogs That Belong to Homeless Individuals', as well as some works in progress and his very successful greetings cards, which sold like hot cakes!

Rising Arts Agency itself displayed information about the organisation in our studio for the duration of Spike Open, with Creative Director Kamina Walton on hand to chat to interested passers-by.

We also ran a short workshop presented by young artists Ailsa Fineron and Jay Carter-Coles on how to make it into the creative sector as a young artist.
