Access information

three people who look like they're having a funny conversation the Rising office, sitting around a table with snacks and laptops. Behind them are 2 posters that say "To care for you is to care for me", and "Work won't love you back".

For one-to-one meetings:

  • We will agree in advance whether to meet in person or online

  • Please let us know if you prefer someone else to take notes for you or to take them yourself

  • We’re happy to meet somewhere convenient for both of us, this could be a cafe, the central library or in the warmer months outside!

  • If you’re meeting a team member in person for the first time you can see our photos here and we’ll usually share a phone number to contact if you’re late, lost or can’t find us.

For group meetings or labs:

  • We will send some information over beforehand so you know what to expect, we never want anyone to feel put on the spot

  • The vibe is that everyone has something interesting to say and we will facilitate to allow that without disrespecting the start and end of the session

  • We will provide refreshments appropriate to the time of day and length of event (eg food for evening labs, biscuits for afternoon etc.)

For bigger events:

  • We know these can be sources of anxiety for people, particularly if you don’t know many people yet

  • If it doubt look for a member of the team, they’re always down to make conversation and help you ease into a new space

  • We will always aim to have a separate quiet space so that we can cater for our introverts, extroverts and everyone in between!

Access needs:

  • Our office is somewhere we want everyone to feel welcome and their identity celebrated.

  • If you have any access needs and/or an access rider you’d like to share with the team before a meeting please do – pronouns, mask wearing preferences and sitting or standing however you want all come as standard.
