Christina Marie Ashmole

Christina Marie Ashmole explores the idea of transnationalism, place, and identity. With these themes, she creates bridges between a multi cultured society using fragments of her upbringing to build a body of work that questions the notions of nationalism, belonging and the importance of these now, in a time of hyper-connectivity and globalisation. Graduated from Fine Art at the University of the West of England, Ashmole and 8 fellow graduates have built, opened and formed Loft 6D (formally known as Lacuna Crux), an artist led studio and exhibition space which hosts talks, screens, performances and event nights. Recently, Ashmole has paired up with James Adam Griffiths to create JIM-MARIE, an on going collaboration exploring each other’s views of the world seen from each other’s perspective. Working collaboratively, they hope to push each other to new ideas.
