Activism with Young People’s Festival of Ideas

We had a great turnout for last night’s Young People’s Festival of Ideas event on Activism at Arnolfini. The audience were hugely supportive and our brilliant line up included:

Miles Chambers, Bristol’s very own poet laureate

Jasmine Ketibuah-Foley from Ujima’s Green & Black programme

Adibah Iqbal sharing personal stories

Ollie Turnbull from the People’s Assembly Bristol

Liz Crow, artist-activist, Roaring Girl Productions

Nathan Herat, comedian

Megan Baker from Safe Space

Chanté Joseph from Bristol is the New Black

Our speakers covered everything from how to plan a protest to how art be used as activism;  how to motivate people to engage to how to turn negative experiences into positive actions.

Check out our hashtag on Twitter to see more about the event: #ypfoi and keep checking our website for more photos and the audio, which we’ll be uploading soon.

Young People’s Festival of Ideas is a Rising partnership with Bristol Festival of Ideas and Arnolfini.
